SOCIAL BIRD Gastropub: Modern American Cuisine in Lafayette, CA

Went on a Saturday night — it gets busy on weekends, so reservations are recommended. We sat outside on the heated patio by the fireplace, which was really cozy. Tried the Mary’s chicken sliders and hand-cut potatoes — pure comfort food! The mocktails were refreshing, and the KFC-style chicken wings were a great add-on. Big shoutout to Chase, our server — friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. The owner even stopped by our table, which made it feel like dining at a family friend’s upscale neighborhood spot. We’ll definitely be back!

The food: I don’t know; it’s so good I don’t even have words for it. I had the mushroom soup and the braised short rib. I didn’t even remember to take pictures. The mushroom soup was not salted, I was going to add a salt, but all the other flavor in the soup was so good it hypothetically screamed not to add a salt which was the beat decision. Then when the short rib arrived each bite was melting in my mouth perfectly. I am a good cook my self and I am very critical when it comes to restaurants and this place excels. The chefs here must be, I don’t know, the best. The drink were good too. I wish I was a food critic.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this great place. Definitely feels social. We Had a great time, the vibe was very friendly. They have a wide selection of wine, bourbon, whiskey, scotch and draft beer. There’s plenty of seats at the bar. The service was exceptional and we didn’t have to wait long for our drinks or dish. The Apple rye cocktail was delicious as was their devil”s margarita. Not convinced yet? Then I have to mention the grilled octopus was good enough to order two. I wish I had taken more pics but I was too busy having a good time.

We sat at the bar and our bartender (I don’t recall his name, but a dashing older gentleman with a hunky beard) took care of us. His Bourbon (yes, capital B) prowess was impressive, alluring, and dare I say… intoxicating. Haha! It was an incredible evening of good food, incredible friendship, and wonderful drink. Highly recommend the chicken sliders. SO tasty. My buddy had the wagyu burger and loved it. The desserts were incredible too.

Really once of the best Steak Frites I've ever had, and that includes in France! The server was super friendly as well.

Client invited kimmy and I to dinner in Lafayette. Restaurant with doggie friendly patio - social bird kitchen and bar - with water fountain and heater. Simple well balanced menu with traditional and healthy offerings. Myself roasted cauliflower and olives . Kimmy and I highly recommend . Enjoy

It's a real good American restaurant with good variety of everything good quality, value and services. Large seating inside including bar seats. Full bar service with verity of wines, beers and cocktails. Limited outdoor seating /patio. Great atmosphere for couples date night, small groups, gathering and meetups. Delicious fresh foods. Waiters are listening and responsive with honest suggestions. Paid parking lot in the back plus paid street parking available. It's a comforting semi-fine place so either make a reservation or expect some worthwhile wait time.

This was an amazing experience. The service was excellent as she took care of us on the patio. The wings and lamb sliders were delicious. I highly recommend them. The fries were seasoned just right, light and crispy. They have some sweet outdoor seating area for dog rents. Our pup was very happy. Thank you for being an amazing part of our road trip. We will be back!
